Nicholas Wynia grew up in Story City, Iowa. He has worked extensively in Central and South America exploring the themes of conquest and colonization. He is currently working on a longterm project documenting the Nicaraguan Grand Canal. His background is in documentary photography, art, and film. He teaches photography and freelances in Philadelphia. Wynia is a Fulbright scholar and holds an MFA from the University of Wisconsin.
