TEACHING EXPERIENCE      

Instructor of Photography 2017-present Germantown Academy Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Created digital photography and multimedia storytelling program for students ages 16-19. The course focused on using digital photography, video, software, and sound to tell stories about people within students' environments.

 

Professor of Photography 2016-2017 Augsburg College Minneapolis, Minnesota     

Taught introduction to digital photography to liberal arts students. Course focused on understanding digital camera functions and using lightroom to create photographs and multimedia slide shows. 

 

Instructor of Photography 2016-2017 Film North Minneapolis, Minnesota   

Taught 6 week digital storytelling workshop focusing on finding personal stories and creating poignant photographic essays. Students were introduced to the history of photography as well as lightroom software, portraiture approaches, and techniques in telling visual stories.

 Founded commercial studio to work with businesses and non-profit organizations. Created concepts, shot video, and edited work to produce documentary style storytelling video and multimedia works.

Worked with photography Professor Tom Jones to archive and exhibit his work.

 

Fulbright Fine Arts Scholarship 2007-2008 Lima, Peru

Created a photographic essay and exhibition through research of religion and history.  Exhibited work in 2009, and lectured  at El Centro De La Imagen.

Photography I Fundamentals of drawing techniques including emphasis on technical and observational skills, using a variety of drawing materials to deal with gesture, line, shape, planes, volume, mass, value, texture, perspective and composition.

Digital Photography I Fundamentals of drawing techniques including emphasis on technical and observational skills, using a variety of drawing materials to deal with gesture, line, shape, planes, volume, mass, value, texture, perspective and composition.

2-D Design and Color Fundamentals of pictorial design. Introduce the concept of the picture plane, figure/ground relationships, mark-making, patterning, composition, value, color, and spatial illusion.
